![]() ![]() If this is your first time creating a virtual machine, we have a guide on our wiki that covers the important steps. Please also check our FAQ and if you find your question is answered there, PLEASE remove your post or at least change the flair to Solved. Please check Google and the VirtualBox Manual before asking simple questions. PLUS a detailed description of the problem, what research you have done, and the steps you have taken to fix it. Whether you have installed Guest Additions and/or Host Extensions (this solves 90% of the problems we see) Whether you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V (applicable to all hosts running 6.1 and above) and disabled HyperV (applicable to Windows 10 Hosts) This is just a friendly reminder in case you missed it. Either way, advice would be hugly appreciated Maybe I'm in the wrong sub and this is a Ubuntu problem and not VirtualBox, maybe it's both. Pretty new to Linux and not familar with the commands. What do I need to do to get this running in 4k? Download the nvidia drivers for my card maybe? Or is that a dumb idea? Pretty sure it's got more than enough RAM, cores etc. I've read things that suggest I need to allocate at least 33mb video memory which I've done. Obviously I've installed the guest additions stuff and things needed to make it full screen etc, but max resolution I can get is 2560 x 1600, though when I go back into the display settings it looks as though it sets itself back to 1920 x 985. All running fine except for one thing - it doesn't look great. VirtualBox 6.1.18 is installed, and the latest Ubuntu 20.04 desktop iso. Host machine is win10, I have a 24" 4k monitor, resolution set to 3840 x 2160 and scaled 200% ![]() I'm a big dumb idiot who doesn't know what he's doing and would love some advice! ![]()
